Hailing from San Antonio, TX, Kevin, better known as, “K.J.,” moved to Los Angeles determined to make a name for himself as both actor and screenwriter. Upon graduating from California State University, S.B., K.J. launched his entertainment career as an on-camera performer. He has been the “Hero” or main performer in many, national commercials and special promos: McDonalds, Mountain Dew, Adidas, Nike, Fox Sports, Playstation and Subway. After being noticed on said commercials, K.J. booked roles on Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC/Disney sitcom pilot, Lost At Home, featuring the late, Gregory Hines, and The A.C.L.U. Freedom Files, directed by Emmy award-winning director, Jeremy Kagan.
A workaholic to the core, K.J. puts as much energy into directing/writing as he does acting. Having minored in creative writing in college, he began screenwriting to create work for himself as an actor and subsequently is finding some incredible success. He penned an updated adaptation of the urban, cult classic, Cooley High, which caught the attention of actor/writer/director, Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones. Together they have written, produced and filmed, Caught on Tape, a progressive, Shakespearian-street, hip hop musical starring Cedric the Entertainer, Vivica A. Fox and Keith Robinson.
Attacking opportunity, K.J. aligned himself and wrote an untitled screenplay that was commissioned by, Mitchell Lieb, President of Motion Picture Soundtracks, Disney Pictures and Television. This eventually aided in K.J.’s transition into directing, and gave him the groundwork to direct 2 short films, 4 commercials, and 2 music videos. He was recently chosen to direct a new series starring Lil’ Josh a.k.a. J. McCoy who is known for his hit single, “Jump” on Radio Disney. He continually strives to better himself as a director and a creator. Much is to be seen from this passionate individual with many more projects on the horizon. |
